In honor of Filipino American History Month, APIFSA hosted a film screening of the PBS documentary Delano Manongs on October 12, 2021 on the USC campus.
The film follows the story of farm labor organizer Larry Itliong and a group of Filipino farm workers who organized The Delano Grape Strike of 1965. The seminal event in the American farm labor movement led to the creation of the United Farm Workers Union.
The Q&A session featured Romeo Hebron, the executive director of the Filipino Migrant Center, and Dr. Ryan Leano, a faculty member at Cal State Fullerton’s Asian American Studies Department.
